This car is from my first set purchased some time in 1962 I think. It had a Lionel Lines steam engine with coal car, a maintenance car, a cities service green tank car, the Allis Chamers car and a brown Lionel lines caboose. I remember it was in a yellow box and it was purchased in Union New Jersey at a store that was pretty close to the factory in Irvington.

The car is carrying a condenser!

I spent a few years just on design haha it blows my mind how fast he can build!

BillYo414, I hear ya I procrastinate waaaaaaay to much!!! No wonder I never get things done. I am very lucky to have about a half dozen of oil tanks/etc on my layout built by Alan. I am seriously considering a Steel Mill from him, only problem is I am running out of room. Need a bigger building, LOL

I just completed the dust collector and the spray washer/electrical precipitator. Here are some pictures. The next step will be to construct the blast furnace building.

I have completed the front mill building but it is not painted yet. I was going to wait to post it but I think there is enough to look at. I will start the back building where the blast furnace will be going next.

Your craftsmanship is beyond words!! Can you tell me where or how you make such life-like pipe fittings? Are they 3-D printed or something commercially available via assorted web sites?

the fittings are commercially available from Plastruct. If you cannot find what you are looking for from them, I may be able to fill your order with my stock.

I always switch things up. I do not like doing the same things. In this case, the roof vents on this building match details of the mill in the pictures I was given.

The blast furnace building will actually have brick walls and will have the window openings covered with corrugated steel sheets to match other details in the pictures.

You got to keep it interesting.

Here are some pictures of the blast furnace building construction. Maybe this coming week I can paint both buildings.

I completed the blast furnace. I have to build the conveyor next. After that, I can glue the buildings down to the base and glue the blast furnace in place.
