I replaced the speaker in my 3V PS2 2-8-0 loco, with the one DaleH recommends, from Madison. While waiting for the Silicone sealant to set, I put it on the track.
1st, thanks Dale, I think the whistle. bell and overall sound are better, but I am now noticing a background static, that goes away when engine sounds are off, but is there in the background, even on the whistle. I listened to my other (as yet original speakered Berk, and I think I notice the same static (ish).
Am i nuts? If not, is it a function of the recording? The overall capaicity of the sound system, or..?
It is a 4ohm speaker (3.86 on a Fluke meter. The old one was 4.1ohm, on the same meter
