I'm probably late to the party here but I just stumbled across a new-to-me S scale manufacturer Concept Models.

They also deal in HO scale but show lots of promise for S scale modelers. It looks like the cars are in kit form. One of their models is available and it appears to be completed less couplers:

There are many other types of cars on the website that look like they would need wide radius curves to operate.

Kit cars aren't my thing but to the scale modeler these cars would add some exotic S scale additions to the layout.

Yikes! The green/red Schnabel car shown above is available completed but there must be lots and lots of time in the making of this car. With a B-I-N price approaching $400 shipped that'll whittle down the number of potential buyers. Couplers not included!

Expecting a $69.95 S Scale Schnable?

The Concept Models kit alone is $99.99, the load is $49.99, add in 52.50 for 3 pair of AM trucks and you're halfway there.  Assembly labor, paint and couplers still not included...

The market for such a cars is already limited by it's unique nature, not everybody wants one.  I sure don't.  I prefer more typical freight cars.  Schnables are way too specialized cars for my tastes and move in their own trains.
