This really looks sharp.  I wish there was  Legacy version.  I'll have to think hard about getting it and upgrading with ERR TMCC.  Does it come with a O gauge coupler to swap out on the front?  I'm finding that my locomotives without a usable coupler on the front aren't getting used much anymore.

I'd recommend this little engine for certain applications.  While it is "semi scale" and a bit smaller than prototype USRA Pacifics, I got one many years ago when K-Line made them, painted in Milwaukee Road's Hiawatha color scheme.  This was a correct paint scheme on the Milwaukee when, from about 1936 until around 1940, they painted a number of Pacifics, without streamlined sheathing, in the bright orange, maroon and gray.  The Milwaukee's Pacifics were a bit smaller than the USRA variety, and so it looks pretty close to scale and heads up some of my secondary passenger trains.  I had TMCC command control installed, along with a nice sound board and then I changed the trailing truck to an inside frame (deVoe) trailing truck like the "road" had for most of their Pacifics and Mikados.

I hope that Williams chooses to do this engine once again, in the "Hiawatha" colors, for those of you who might have missed the chance some 15 or 20 years ago.

brr:  These are the old K-Line semi-scale locomotive from about 15 to 20 years back.  The more recent Pacifics and Mikados were all correctly scale sized and were good renditions of USRA designed engines.  When you see one of these lined up next to a scale sized engine, they don't look disproportionately small.  Rather they simply look like a model of a smaller full sized engine.

Do a bit of research and see what your favorite RR used for light passenger service.  If their Pacifics look smaller than others, say the USRA design, one of these engines just might be correct for you.  There are other details that might need changing, too, but that's one of those things that's fun about this hobby, for me.

Paul Fischer

This engine comes with a scale front coupler that can be changed out to a regular o gauge coupler.Originally Posted by sinclair:

You are correct they are separate.
Thanks

If they are removable that would certainly open up some possibilities for modification.
