Newer ZW & Z-4000 question

The Z-4000 is electrically compatible with the ZW.  The only difference will be that you cannot control the Z-4000 with TMCC/Legacy for conventional running or emergency shutdown.

4 of the 180 bricks is a ton of power. I'm just curious where in your layout you want to add the Z-4000?  

Breaker speed is a good question I would like to hear opinions on for the Z-4000.  I use the modern ZW on my layout and I am extremely happy with the speed the PH trip on shorts.

I use the Z-4000 on test bench and repairs, but have not had it integrated into a layout.  The shortfall with the ZW is the need for separate Volt/Amp meters.  G 

Jeff, have 3 loops, switch power, lights, accessories.  A zw & Z4000 is probably more than I need but I guess I'm planning for the future.

My concern is if they can share a common return and be phased together and the breaker speed.

My opinion is not to depend on the breakers of the transformers. Do a search on the forum of "curcuit breakers" and there are many ideas and product sources to be purchased.
