Last year I purchased a Ives passenger set at York.  I've spent the last year or so repairing and refinishing and have the first 2 cars to a point where I am satisfied. Though you might like to see some before and after photos.

I always enjoy the work of others...anyone got anything to share?  I know Steve must have something!!!

Thanks for positive replies.  This is the first Ives set I have owned.  I like the look of Ives and will probably pick up more junkers if I have the opportunity.  I have a 185 that is missing a few available parts.  I'll be picking them up a York (I hope).

As for the "how to..." well, I would say that cleaning the old paint and rust off is the key ingredient to a good job.  There have been many post here with regard to cleaning, I have access to a small particle plasting cabinet.  80 grit glass bead does a great job on the finish and the rust.  I paint with rattle cans.  Take your time.
