Here we are on Monday and hopefully another teaser prior to a new release from Menards. Of course the 11% is running so maybe there will not be one. I figured that last night CABINET BOB would have released something due to his close connections with Mark and Menards LOL. I honestly believe there is a Menards DC on his property and he just has to walk a couple of steps to get the new releases...................Paul

Sounds like exciting times ahead- thanks in advance to the Menards Train Team.

Side comment- I was creating a rolling stock inventory spreadsheet today and noticed some of the Boxcars I bought in 2016 have "Built by Menards 2017" printed on them. I thought this was interesting but not unusual given my past experiences with production lead times in China.

MG Brown,

You are right - Lead times can get pretty lengthy.

The batch of boxcars that you are referring to was completed much quicker than anticipated. Instead of holding onto them and waiting, we decided to release the boxcars as soon as they arrived.

It's always been our philosophy to release new items as soon as they are inspected and ready to go.

Its just a mix of regularity,  this Week  11%, which SO FAR , so GOOD, nobody can figure out how to  B---H, < sorry, about

the rebate program,  ( guess they are getting Trumpized next week, and cant train gripe function),  but anyway,  I will gamble,

and say a release in two weeks, and  probably  a free  train offering for anything over  19.99, next week sometime.

Review the scenarios, they are as regular as can be, may not be to just your timing , and for those that think Wal mart

is only place with Greeters, I beg to differ,  I think  C. Bob, should change his location from  Ctl. Iowa, to what Else

Cabinet * ME - nards * Bob - country !!!!!!!   hahahah  absolutely not 1 bit of information provided here, but dang had just as much fun as opening a mystery, box. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

While we are waiting breathlessly for the next spectacular announcements from our friends at Menards... I wanted to give a shout out to Malgorzata at Menards Kenosha!

I appreciated her help today- she was as friendly and helpful as can be, she knows her trains and has a smile so warm I thought somehow I took the Delorean back to 1955 this morning instead of the silver Acura with license plate "3ABM581"!!!

Just sayin'

Mark - That's exciting, can't wait.

I have a question regarding my Red Owl store.  I love the store and have received many compliments about it during last weekend's get-together.  But, the Red Owl sign does not light at all.  I would take it back and get another one, but as you know they aren't available.  My problem is I don't want to be without the store, but it bothers me that the lighted sign, a key part of the store, doesn't work.  Any ideas or suggestions?  Are you going to make it again?  If so, should I wait and exchange it then?  Or do you know where one is that works?

Chugman,

I'm sorry to hear about the Red Owl sign.

Let me look into this for you and I'm sure we can come up with a solution.

Art ; I'm sure you tried this, but did you slide the slider switch besides the power port. That does turn the Red Owl sign on and off.. Bob

I would like to make one request about military vehicles on flats- is there anyway that they could have subdued wheels and not chrome?  I'm not hardcore about scale modeling, but the shiny chrome wheels on olive drab trucks just seems out of place.  the detail and finish of the products is very high, so adjusting this item would be in keeping with high quality standards.

thanks

Tamiya has a great acrylic paint called "smoke" that is excellent for "toning down" chrome and the like. It can be found in brush on bottles or spray. Testors has a brush on paint called "Jet Exhaust" that I use for painting on details that I want to have a weathered look.

Hope this helped someone.

I am suspecting the electrolumence (EL) sign has worn out, or power supply failed.  There is a cable with a flat black plug that runs to sign but you can't unplug it from ribbon cable. So what I did was cut the sign cable and measured the supply voltage about 110VAC,  meaning the EL element was probably bad.  Unfortunately you cant replace EL sign without destruction of glued together pieces. Ditto you cant get at power supply to troubleshoot or repair without destruction.

Not helpful info I realize.
