I apologize in advance to the moderators if I am posting this topic in the wrong Forum. After searching for possible similar topics posted in the past, and after reviewing the directory, I could not find the Forum that would be a good fit, so I put it here.

I have no problem having my topics moved to different directories.

I realize I often think out of the box when dreaming up new topics, which may make it difficult to determine what Forum to post them in.

Your next train show could be a traditional show like York, the Big E, or the Westchester Toy and Train Show in December, which is the one I most often attend.

Your next train show could alsi be an in person gathering at your home to see your trains and layout, or it could be a virtual gathering over Zoom, or it could be an in person or virtual gathering to see trains done at another location.

My next train show will hopefully occur in a few hours, in my basement this rainy day, when my 9 and 4 year old granddaughters come over for a visit.

I'm excited about this, and have made an effort to make my trains and layout more entertaining for my granddaughters. What I have done is "beef up," and "horse up" the farm on my layout by tuning and installing the operating cattle car and corral, and the operating horse car and corral, which, in my opinion, can be difficult accessories to get to run well. After several hours of tinkering with them, they kinda work, with the help of the hand or finger of God. LOL.

This weekend I also got the operating Fork Lift to work (one of my favorites), and installed and got the mail car and semaphore (?) for mail bag pick-up to work. A  few days ago I got the cop and hobo car to work, and a couple of weeks ago I installed and got to work the operating giraffe car, tell-tale and triggering mechanism to work.

IMO, it's a sure thing that the giraffe car will be a big hit with my granddaughters.

I have an accessory laden layout that also includes the operating barrel loader and car, the operating log loader and car, the operating gantry crane (an awesome accessory IMO), the #97 operating coal elevator and coal dump cars (another favorite of mine), and the operating water tower with real water and water pump inside (yet another favorite).

So, enough about me and my layout for now, tell me about Your Next Train Show. You can share what it is, when it will take place, and why you're excited about it. Arnold

My next train show is at Renninger's Flea Market in Kutztown, Pa on July 17. I plan to have 8 tables of trains priced at or below Ebay prices.

Of course, all this stuff is from my personal collection which makes it bittersweet. I moved out of my parents house three years ago, and my wife wants me to bring as much of the train stuff here as I can. This means taking down my old layout and selling the stuff that I won't be using on the next layout (which I plan to make room for in the next 10 years, so probably will be started in 2035 lol). On the plus side, the money goes back into my train fund, so I've been jokingly referring to it as my "Lionel Asa Packer Fund".

Hey CarguyZM10.
I want to do the same thing here in Rockport/Camden Maine.
Local train shows are few and far between on a good year. One state armory show, one or two high school shows. Last year nothing due to covid.
question within the topic: does the next train show need to be downstairs? In your train room? Or in a smaller private or local organized place of interest?

for example: Leroof’s next local train show to be announced.....three collections so far, multiple interests in mid coastal Maine. Show of hands please?

starting a new topic based on this idea.

Leroof, the answer to your question is all of what you mention, and more. For this thread,"train show" shall be interpreted in the broadest possible way.

By the way, my train show in my basement today with my grandauggters was a smashing success. The giraffe car and tell tale, the cop and hobo car and trestle, the operating fork lift, and the chaos generated by the operating horse car and corral, and operating cattle car and corral, were the stars of the show. Arnold

Next train show is June 26 at the Lambertville Antique Market. Out door show under 2 outdoor pavilions plus more tables in the open air market. Last one there in April was excellent and large.

July 17 is Reningers Farmers Market as noted by Carguy. I will seek him out for his deals.

Greenberg Edison, NJ show is on their website for August 14-15.

The local train show near me in Brick and Wayne, NJ are slated for October dates.

Rumor is that the township is allowing the museum to reopen the building that my train club shares with them. I’m awaiting the word like they are.

Any idea where your tables will be, or their numbers ?  I plan on going.

I'm sorry, I do not. All I know is that my spots (two spots, each with two tables and I am bringing 4 additional tables) are all under a pavilion. I will share it here when I get that information though.

Maybe we can come up with a system to when a member is set up at a train meet they could have a small sign w/ "OGR" on their table.

That way any member that is at that meet buying, they will know where a member is set up.

The Great Midwest Train Show in Wheaton, IL is starting again August 8th.  I'm going through train show withdrawal, can't wait!

Don

Don,

There’s a train show this Sunday at the St. Charles, IL fair grounds. Kane County? It’s labeled as a railroad show, but there at least use to be a bunch of O/O27 sellers there too.

Has anyone heard if the TCA MWD is having meets?

The local train show here got cancelled last year due to the bug. I saw your thread and it got me looking to see if it will happen this year. Usually it is the third weekend in Sept. This year it looks like they have it scheduled on the last weekend in August. If everything works out it looks like the 28th or 29th of Aug for me. Thanks for posting this, otherwise I may not have checked in time.
