Is there a 2018 LCT Catalog?
Maybe the Lionel/MTH contract has lapsed?

no,i was looking in the back of the 2018 vol 2 out today at the club news
OK - thanks!
Can someone ask MTH at York if tinplate is DOA now...?
I hope they'll come back with some new stuff.
Tinplate is not dead there are some issues that need resolved before they can put out a new catalog.
Perhaps MTH, should consider what Dr. Rene Wilfer, the owner of the German firm Piko did: run their OWN factory in China rather than contracting for production. The advantages of such an arrangement are obvious: better quality control, and an enviable on-time delivery schedule! German precision!
Any thoughts on my suggestion?

Piko might have high quality and on-time delivery, but their products still look (East German) bad. I prefer to wait a bit for a nice looking MTH product.
Regards
Fred
Fred: OMG! You obviously are more informed about their product line! I am an LGB fan myself, and never had any Piko.
Scott, can you elaborate on the issues? Sidetrack Hobbies told me last Sept, that there were no plans for a Tinplate catalog this year, or maybe next. Hopefully this will change.

Curious people want to know! :-)
It seems to me that MTH copies old designs licenser from Lionel. Perhaps they have reached their limit on the old designs. Maybe they are planning to invent new cars and engines following old styles. They have pretty well covered all the old Lionel and AF as well as the more popular ancient producers. Odd-d
at the mth booth ,I spoke to mike,,1st saying what a great job he is doing ,as always,on the tinplate stuff, and then slid in,,whats up with this,he reply was ,stock answer, getting caught up on past,390's etc, then would start fresh,i thanked him for his time,,and then said,,,,oh can t wait to see those subway cars,(still mad).so still think a blanket statement would be better directly to us tinplates, but this is as good as it gets,at least I am paying off the stuff from before,,terry

I was told that Mike owns his China factories. That doesn't mean he doesn't have labor problems though.
As Terry said, MTH at York says they are just getting caught up and will make some more eventually. No additional details on when or when there will be a catalog.

Have they really covered "everything"? Perhaps in Standard, but not in O. The S-1 looking locomotives were popular in the day (Lionel 15x, Ives 325x) but nothing from MTH. Also, no Lionel 248 or 253. The 4U attempt was pre-LTI.
How about some Ives and American Flyer O? They probably don't have the dies, but with CAD, CNC, laser and 3-D technology today, how hard could it be?
I think it would even be possible to make small runs onshore today in a small business. Maybe Lionel and MTH should look into selling licenses and kits?

The SG subway cars would be nice.
