I purchased a new MTH Premier P47 Pacific. It looks great, smokes great from the main stack, however I get no whistle steam. I put 15 drops the in whistle steam smoke unit under the steam dome, blew in it in case of a liquid blockage, nothing. There is no manual with it or available online (a very poor business practice) to give a clue. I looked both at the tender and the engine for some kind of switch but found none. I also gave a look through the different options on the DCS remote without success. Anyone have any ideas. I also tried to get a hold of MTH by phone, another frustrating experience. Thank you for your time.

To enable steaming whistle (remember, they had to make it different than big L) they named the function FSW- Function- Steaming Whistle.
Also, if using the app rather than the DCS remote, the DCS WIFI explorer cannot enable this function (software limitation, not hardware).
Remote
APP- note again, must be used with either TIU+WIU, or new WTIU. Does not work with DCS Explorer WIFI (silver box).

Also note, MTH O scale steaming whistle does not work in conventional, the only known way is with full blown DCS with either the TIU or the WTIU, and you have to activate the function, it is not enabled or on by default.
I happen to have a PS3 HO Berkshire that does work differently- but again, in O scale PS3, that's how they chose the firmware function to work.
I'll also say, I have seen it once or twice where I had to toggle the FSW function ON, then OFF, then ON again to get it take effect. It's just the first time operating it, it might take a cycle to make it active.
Once active, then either the normal non-quilling whistle function or quilling whistle then runs the fan and you get steaming whistle smoke.
I just received a new MTH P47 Pacific as well. I had to do a feature reset in order to get it to go the first time. Since then, no issues. Who knows.

Thank you for your time and responses. I tried the SPW - FSW method and it does put out steam, so the smoke unit works. I set the intensity with the steam blow continuously. How do I get that setting to stay and back out of that last "Whistle" screen? Everything I tried resulted in no steam when I ran the engine normally.
