After seeing a number of off-topic / political posts, I'm wondering if it's possible to automatically notify someone when their post has been deleted? If people knew that a post was deleted, it might cause them to think about the rules and do a better job of staying within them. Please note that I'm suggesting this only if it can be done automatically - not looking to add anything to the work done by the moderators, as there's plenty for them to do already.

Individual posts aren't normally deleted when this happens. Instead the entire thread is.
I assume you're suggesting that the poster of the one post that precipitated the deletion is the person that would be notified.
Or, would it be more than one person in the case of several people ganging up on someone?

I'm suggesting that whenever any post is deleted by a moderator, regardless of reason, an automatic email notification would be generated to that person. Although it would be nice if the person could be told the general reason, I don't want to suggest anything that makes additional work.

It is not possible to do this.
