          Do You Recognize These Cars?

Do you recognize these cars? They are not what they first appear to be. They are variations of familiar Automobiles.  Take your best guess and be as specific as you can. Post them as replies and I will post the answers next week.

The only prizes will be bragging rights.

Oh, wow, Richard.  I recognize some of them but I think all but maybe the first are Canadian, Australian, etc., variations on US cars?  The first looks very much like by fathe'rs early 50s Pontiac, but the hood ornament is not as I remember it . . . several others look familiar but different, like the "Ford Falcon," which I know was sold with trim variations in Australia.  And that vaguely Buick-Riveria/Chevelle/GTO looking one, whatever it is, I like a lot.

I clearly flunk this test entirely.

All are Canadian built.

no.1:  The Pontiac is probably a Pathfinder, based on a Chevy with a flathead 6.

no.3 is a '56 Meteor, a Ford body with Canadian trim, sold here at Mercury dealers.

no. 4 is a Monarch, likewise, a Merc body in Canuck trim, sold at Ford dealers.

no.5 is a '60 Ford Frontenac, our patriotic version of the Falcon.

no.6 a Pontiac Acadian, Chevy II based

no.7 a Pontiac Beaumont with Chevelle roots.
