The whole scene is fantastic, but I think the lighting in the 2nd and 3rd photographs are the best. The shadows aren't so dark, so we can see the rocks on the ground better.
Thanks, I took a lot of shots fun to do
I started this time with a locomotive the 3-truck shay from Sunset the weathering you see here is different what I have done on freight cars I can say it is not easy for me to make it nice I hope it is on his way. I used grimy black for the entire locomotive and wash it with benzene used also some powders and brown colors. The smokebox is what I done first on top of it gets blacker later.
The first as it was above the weathering bellow pictures I want to make it older and older. The railroad name is made up the weathering is still going on now is it drying hope to continue on the weekend

Excellent weathering!
Super nice !
It looks superb!
You're a talented modeler Ed, that weathering is fantastic. Do you use chalks, oils, typical model paint, or a combination? Weathering takes a lot of practice and paying attention to the prototype to get it believable and you can check that box off.
I like the rerailers, tools and other items on the running boards. Nice job!

Thanks UP148, I use a lot of different types of paint but I always mix and of course combination with powders. I search every time on the internet and print the pictures sometimes a lot or I use books😀
Take all the shots you want ED3945. We don't mind looking.

Thanks Dave, no problem to help with the weathering I can give you tips what I use of paint and how I start do you want to weather a locomotive or a freight car? There are many ways how you can do it but in the US ar also people who are very good you can see it on YouTube for example a lot are very good in ho scale.

I will be doing both. My layout is what I call "Finished" at least for trackage and scenery. I have done a lot of repainting and detailing of my present fleet of engines and rolling stock. I'm not in need of adding rolling stock or locomotives so I guess I'm at the stage where weathering detail is my next attempt. This would also include buildings. I will be checking out tutelage from the internet. You are a "master" in my opinion, and I would appreciate using you as a resource down the line. Thanks!
