Based on my reading here I decided to do a complete "tune up" on my O22 switches prior to installing them on my new layout. The different articles I've read indicate that it should have screws for removal but mine seem to have two staked posts holding them on. Do I need to use a file/grinder or am I missing something obvious here?

There are 2 black screws on the bottom that are screwed into the Hex Head nuts on the top of the switch. If you subscribe to the CTT magazine, the Feb. 2013 issue has a complete pictorial write up on how to restore these switches on Page 50.
Are you talking about the bottom plate covering the switch track connections? They normally have really tiny hex head or straight slot screws. I've never seen one that has the plate staked on.

Got out the magnifying glass--they are indeed hex heads, very small with a dimple in the head that made me think staked when I looked. Got out the small hex driver and they came right out.
Thanks, saved me from making a mess of a so far simple job.
Those were what pushed me over the edge in getting my Wiha driver sets, I had a bunch of them to recondition and getting them out with anything else is a giant PITA! 
Of course, the drivers are handy on steamer drive rods as well...
Why would you want to take the bottom plate off?
