After a long construction project the Oak Street bridge in Hinsdale, IL is open again for business. Although the old, one way at a time wooden bridge is gone - no more driving over the rickety wood planks on the 45 degree angle, bumper scraping incline - the new bridge has sidewalks on both the east and west sides making for perfect train watching and diesel exhaust fume inhaling!!! This bridge is over the three track main BNSF line into Chicago AKA the race track. So for those in the Chicago area enjoy and those visiting be sure to make the stop. Some will even recognize the adjacent Highlands station from a model kit offered in o scale years ago.
