I recently picked up an odd ball postwar Lionel 627 Leigh Valley Center cab diesel switcher.

What is odd about this locomotive is that yellow paint is visible under the black paint wherever there are chips in the paint. The locomotive came from a non-train seller. I have examined the chassis carefully and cannot find any signs of disassembly for repainting.
A yellow framed switcher should have had a light socket, but there are no signs that there was one once there and removed. The rivet holding the e-unit bracket looks to be original and is correctly formed. The soldering on the motor and e-unit all looks to be original, and there are no signs that the Tinnerman clips were ever taken off of the motor mounting posts to remove the motor.
There are no signs of masking around the e-unit bracket or motor.

Has anybody seen anything similar?
