I'd like to order the new Wabash F7 ABBA set with Legacy. My only hesitation is what to pull behind them. I'd like to see Lionel make "The Bluebird" passenger cars with the vista dome cars included in the set. If that's the case then I'd be really excited!

Wabash items in the Lionel catalog have been very limited through the years and I'm afraid these F7 units are going to be left in the dark. Lionel has said in the past that they will produce rolling stock to match their power unit equipment. I'm still waiting for the N&W heavyweight 2-pack and stationsounds diner from 10 years ago. What are the chances that Lionel will make a nice scale passenger set to go with these F7 units? I sure wish they would have indicated their plans in the catalog.

I am with you. It would have been nice if they included passenger cars to go with the F7s. I was surprised that they included the 18" CZ cars when Atlas has a real jump on them with accuracy and correct details. The CZ in the catalog looks like their generic 18" cars. I would have much rather seen a Blue Bird set of cars to go with the engines.

Who knows if they will be included in the next catalog. It is a gamble to buy the engines not knowing if they will release a set of passenger cars to go with them. The same thought as yours crossed my mind when I first looked at the catalog.

Well, there are a LOT of us who can't run 21 inch cars on our layouts - not even close. There was a good part of a Forum thread about the Atlas CZ cars that talked about that when the Atlas cars hit the street. For this reason, the 18 inchers are welcome. And even those are a stretch for many.

Among other reasons (and there are many, of course), a lot of folks don't live in homes with basements. In Texas, for example, basements in houses are very rare. How many people on the Forum would have room for a 30 or 40 foot long layout in their house if they didn't have a basement? Not many, that's for sure.

That's a perennial problem, wondering if there will be followup items in an upcoming catalog. You should write to Lionel about this. A scale Bluebird set would be dynamite-looking.

I have not seen the new Wabash F7 ABBA.  However, I have a set of Lionel Wabash Madison Cars that I purchased back in 1998.  They are a dark blue in color.  I have been looking for the Lionel Wabash Steam Engine to go with these nice looking cars.

One day I will do that, however, I pull these cars with the Williams EP-5 Virginian makes for a nice looking passenger set.  The numbers of these Wabash Madison Cars are: 6-19062, 6-19063, 6-19064, 6-19065.

Until Lionel makes a set of passenger cars to go with this F7 ABBA these cars may look good behind this Wabash F7.  I hope this helps.

Many thanks,

Billy C
