I totally enjoy OGR Forum!!    It provides/adds a wonderful dimension to the hobby.   I find it a great place to learn, enjoy, have fun and connect with others who love trains.    The folks who frequent the Forum are always there to answer questions and provide help to anyone who asks.  One can always find an answer to practically any train ( both real world and model ) related question here.   The Forum is an oasis of tranquility,  given the world in which we live.    The OGR staff deserves a rock star standing ovation for providing us ( free of charge! )  with this wonderful resource!

I've only been here about 6 weeks and already totally agree with you trumptrain

As so many of you have already stated, this OGR On-Line Forum is a valuable resource for us to solve model train problems, enables us to connect with each other and expand our networks of friends, and otherwise enhances our enjoyment of the hobby.

I am glad that we are expressing our gratitude on this thread for the Forum and those who supervise it. Arnold

I really like the OGR Forum, I purchased an OGR Magazine at Barnes and Noble book store a few years ago and saw an add about the forum and I checked it out and I immediately joined.  It is the first thing I look at when I boot up my Mac in the morning and is generally the last thing I look at right before I turn it off each night and hit the sack.  I have learned so much from this Forum and I hope to keep learning from it.  The guys and gals on this forum are very friendly and seem to always be willing to help you with your questions.  When I first joined, I was clueless about this part of the hobby and when I would read some of the posts I felt like a total dummy but they were giving information that I could use and I tried to soak as much in as I could.  There are a few on here that seem to get their dander up about different things but that's what make this place interesting from a certain standpoint, some just don't like change and don't really want to accept it, that's ok, it's what makes the world go round.  I always think that they have  their panties in a wad and didn't get them straightened out before they put them on and it just pinches them a bit.  I'm always amazed at how much knowledge there is with you guys and everyone is always willing to share it.  I don't really answer a lot of questions because I don't feel competent enough to give someone a good answer and then a lot/most times someone has already answered the question even if I do happen to know the answer.

I think the owners and moderators of the OGR are doing a terrific job.  Rich was always very nice to converse with and I always thought he was very fair in his decisions.  I also feel that Alan is doing a wonderful job and has a lot of good ideas for the Forum.  He seems to be very fair in his decisions and wants to see the forum continue to be as great as it is.  I hope it continues to be a great place to come and just look at pictures if you want to or a place to ask questions, get great answers, start new topics or buy and sell your stuff.  This place has it all, I love it, I couldn't ask for more.  A big thanks to everyone who makes this forum what it is today, I feel extremely lucky to have found it.

The OGR Forum has been a great joy and resource for me. In addition to sharing ideas and enjoying layouts of the great people on the forum, where else can you ask for leads on an O scale moose as well as O scale chicken wire and get an answer in 10 minutes! Also, experts in technical areas of the hobby have helped me through LED lighting of passenger coaches among other topics. BRAVO to OGR! Thank you for the forum!

I live "down under" - on the other side of the world - and I log into the OGR forum every day just to see what other "O" gauge railroaders are doing. Without this wonderful forum I would remain "in the dark" because of where I live. Australia is not known for its strides in "O" gauge model railroading, and this forum fills that need for me. The technical help and advise that GUNRUNNER JOHN gives is invaluable, and his sense of humor is dry and dusty, but he gets his points across.

I my opinion, Alan is extremely professional in the way he moderates the site, and I appreciate the time OGR devotes to "watching over us". Kudos to both of them!!!!

Despite the copyright issues recently, the OGR Forum is still an excellent place to talk about trains, big or small. I am thankful that such great platforms like this exist for this hobby, and our attitude on the forum (which I still believe is mostly positive) will surely help interest future generations in the O-Gauge Railroading hobby.

No matter what you want to learn, no matter what your problem is, no matter what you’re searching for, this is the place to find all of the answers. The OGR forum members are a tremendous wealth of knowledge and they are all willing to share everything they know with everyone else.

We are all so fortunate to have the OGR Forum available for our use.

I felt alone and isolated. Then I discovered this forum, and that I was not the only person with the type of O gauge enthusiam demonstrated here.  For me, trains were always more of a seasonal hobby for the cold and dreary fall/winter/spring months.   The OGR forum totally transformed that into a year round hobby that always has something new to learn.  Best place for general information, problem solving, and current product releases.   Can't be beat!  I am grateful to have this wonderful resource.

I have been using the Forum for a long time. Like many, my activity level varies. I very much appreciate and value the Forum.

Some time ago, Pat Marinari posted that in addition to all the information, one of the great benefits to the Forum was the ability to regularly connect with people you met at York (or other train events) and develop friendships. For me, that's a really significant component of the Forum.

OGR Forum is the best !!! I check in many times on a daily basis. When I check in it takes me away from this troubled world we live in, this is a  sacred place for me , please leave the “drama “ for someplace else !!!!

Well said Alex, same for me.   B.T.W. check out my Flatcar Facelift article in the next magazine issue.

This thread sounds like a wake.  LOL!

Despite the recent, necessary changes, OGR definitely has been and looks to be into the future high on my list for the O Gauge experience.  I haven't had a permanent layout in a few years due to house construction and the OGR community keeps me interested. I always look forward to logging in and seeing some great topics.

I have really liked this forum.  I have always loved trains but today they are very complex and this forum has given me the confidence to continue purchasing trains that may not work out of the box.  It has been essential to my continued participation.  Keep up the good work.  I feel the internet in general has made the hobby much more rich and interesting. When other hobbyists are so far apart it gives us a feeling of community and a way to broaden our knowledge and share our skills.
