It was suggested we have a poll on this question, so here it is.

Just a suggestion, you might want to add a polo shirt option to this.

Maybe even a sweatshirt as well
It can get a little cold at York in April or October!
I say start small, definitely in for a t-shirt or two!
I would buy the polo shirt...
I would buy a polo shirt too.
Forgot to vote
Would be in for sweatshirt, ball cap, or polo shirt, or pin

I think trying to change the poll now would screw up the existing votes. I think we're getting the point.

I'd be in for a polo shirt.

OK....just so you all know, we have discussed the pros and cons several months ago and if we go forward with offering OGR shirts again, it will most likely be without the name of the person on the shirt. Talking to the OGR principals about this, it was pointed out that there were several reasons why we stopped offering the shirts not the least of which was the profitability as well as the human resources available at OGR. Personalizing the shirts came along with a whole host of other issues. Personalization would more likely become something that the owner of the shirt would do on their own. In addition, most folks don't realize that OGR has a limited staff which is working hard to provide all of us the best forum and magazine possible.
This past August, while I was at OGR headquarters, we discussed this in detail with a vendor and that vendor has provided samples of their excellent work. I think that sometime in the near future, the shirts may be available again at certain events and meets like York, etc....but customizing them with your name MAY be a different matter. Also, the potential of hundreds of shipments of these having to be processed is a concern. So...it would be much more likely to have generic shirts available at train meets where a customer could come by, pay for, and take it with them. Other promotional products, if we decide to do them, could be handled similarly.
Who knows what is in the future...but I can say that there are some good things coming for the subscribers, advertisers, and members of the forum!

Thanks for chiming in Alan. One suggestion would be to make the stuff more visible at the shows you guys are at. As another poster mentioned, I also had no idea that OGR was selling the pins at York.

Both a pin and polo or golf type shirt, most definitely not a collarless t-shirt which would limit me to wearing it only in warm weather.
(Also would prefer if it could be a permanent press poly/cotton blend to miniimize ironing. Thanks.)
Do I get paid for wearing a advertisement? Just kidding!!! I'm in for 2 golf type shirts.
John...thanks for the suggestion but those that "shopped" our booths at York seemed to notice the pins as they were going like hotcakes. We had everything out there on the tables and racks.... We had a very brisk business from what I could see.

I voted...but a polo shirt would be - by far - preferred.
The pins are free at the York booth and I suppose any meet that the OGR staff has a booth. So don't pay for one.
I had my black OGR shirt personalized at the chain called "EmbroidMe". It was cheap.

I guess I must have been blind, I didn't notice the pins on the OGR tables either.
