I've had an interest in Standard gauge for years, but just in an academic sense.  Earlier today I saw an original Lionel Peacock Blue #10 electric for what seemed to be a rather low price.  I bid on it just for the heck of it, figuring someone would outbid me and the price would shoot up.  Well, nobody else bid.  So now I have just started sliding down that slippery slope.   Wow, I'm excited!  It looks well played with but it's intact and running.  I'm bummed though that I'll have to wait until October to see it, when I get off the ship and back home.

Your journey has just begun! Tinplate is addictive! I started with a 1925 gray 318 from an auction site, then came some used track and switches, a couple new  repo sets...you get the picture. Now tinplate O and Standard Gauge along with Marx Tin is about the only stuff I buy. I still like the new, but it just doesn't attract my attention the same anymore. Enjoy the ride!
