The old Flat 4 Wire Cable for UCS uncouple / unload controllers gets stiff and brittle.

Is there something to apply to the wire to restore it to be soft + flexible ?

Why not just play it safe and replace with new flat four wire cable?

I have been making some modifications to my control panel and the wire from the UCS controllers has become stiff. Just the 18 inches from the controller to the terminal strip on the back side of the control panel. I have new wire from the control panel under the layout to the UCS tracks. I am adding additional un-couple magnets to my yard tracks and I am using new wire for that. The UCS tracks and controllers work just fine, so for now I will leave them in place and work around them.

The only thing I'm aware of to apply to the brittle cable is new cable. There's no way to rejuvenate the old stuff.
