I have a container of MTH Proto Smoke Fluid that is probably 10 years old. Should I buy some fresh fluid, or continue using the older fluid? Is there any risk of damage with aged fluid? It seems fine and isn't thick or discolored.

Smoke fluid is cheap. At 10 years old I wouldn't use it.
Personally for the cost of a bottle of smoke fluid I would toss something that is 10 years old.
I have a bottle of that and it's from 1997. It works great.

I dont know, its mineral oil, comes form paraffin and was in the ground form millions of years. I cant imagine a few more hurting it
There is nothing in smoke fluid that’s perishable. In fact, MTH recommends putting a few drops of smoke fluid into locomotives before puttting them into storage.
I still have a few drops left of my original bottle of Christmas scent MTH fluid, which I believe I bought around 1999. No problems whatsoever.
