Good afternoon Friends. I have 3 MTH engines that have old protosound 2 boards with 8.4v square battery that I replaced with new-charged battery ; when I put on track with voltage, remote indicates NO ENGINE TO ADD. I think boards do not function but seems is very dificult to get them, may I repair them? MY BEST REGARDS.

Working examples of a repaired 5V PS/2 board are like as @gunrunnerjohn likes to say, as rare as hen’s teeth.
Your better off converting to TMCC with parts from 3rd Rail / ERR or replacing with a ProtoSound 3/2 stacker board which can be ordered from MTH Parts.
Have you tried all these engines in conventional mode with transformer only?
Do you get anything?
Are you sure the batteries are good and fully charged?
Yes, I tried in conventional and nothing happening. Batteries are new and charged. Regards.
Sadly, this is not all that uncommon. It's very unlikely that you'll revive the old 5V boards. The replacement PS32 board with the 5V connectors is the normal replacement.
Dear Friends:
Thanks for your replies. In 3rd Rail/ERR kits, wich is the indicate for this MTH Engines? REGARDS.
You'd be using the ERR Cruise Commander and for sound the ERR RailSounds Commander.
