Hi Monk,,, Don't panic  , this has happened a few times  here on the forum  in the last few years. It's fixable, however how... that's the 64 thousand dollar question.

Maybe a reload of the software starting with new batteries, and making sure the remote is in the "off: position by removing one battery and reinstalling it. The Loader will tell when to hold down the on/off button.

I 've had it happen and eventually it took after  number of tries , I  even went back to the older software version (that worked as well

The only reason I posted was to let you know it's fixable. You don't need a new remote.

Monk,

A few thoughts...

First, ensure that the on/off button isn't imply stuck in the on position. The button should have some play, the same as any other button. Then, check al of the buttons. If any one is stuck-in, the power button won't work.

Next, try loading the software again.

Last, take the batteries out and let the remote sit for a couple of days. Then, put the batteries back in and try to turn it on.

I've never had a remote with this problem that one of the above solutions hasn't resolved.
