And it was a good show, including the Key cab forward detailed by, I'm guessing, Gary Schrader.  It was pure voodoo shrinkage from 1:1.  Kohs had the challenger, Yoder had some great looking cars as did PSC.  Lots of dealers and deals.  But the best of all was that it rained (a lot and desperately needed) and Rod Miller is going to continue the show for the next five years.  Richard Dunn and others stepped up to help with some of the future work load.

Allan

O Scale West was a very nice show.

Lots of goodies on the trading tables.

Even some 3 rail & HO, I brought over 100 items and did not spend over $35 on any one item.

Christmas in Feb, for O scale nerds.

Good display layouts too.

Golden Gate Lionel Lionel Club had their 3 rail portable layout setup.

A good number of local layouts were open for visits, too.

Well I guess no one noticed me there. Sigh...

Actually it was one of the best O Scale Wests I have attended in a long time. With Gary Yosely at my side (Remember he used to work with Sunset Models since the 1970s). And Ken Belaver across the way, Bob Bunch not too far off, and so many old friends and customers from over the years I can't list them all here, it's more of a gathering of the old Guard.

Some young one's too, like Robert Lopez, who is the head engineer for CTTOM. And Bob Kravasic and Crew at the Golden Gate RR Club.

We/I/Sunset had our FTs, RDCs, NP A-1 Grey Boiler, and FL9 and FP7s on our table. Lots of excitement about the SD7 / 9 announcement and many suggestions for future projects too.

I even sold an AC9, FL9 and some FTs for one of our dealers at the show (RGSRR).

Richard Dunn was there, he worked with the OSW team to make it happen this year, HATS OFF and THANK YOU. He reviews a lot of our drawings for Passenger cars and Diesels too.

See you guys in Chicago Next. And Thanks for your Support. What a great business, and Hobby.

Cheers,

Scott Mann

I enjoyed it even being the assistants assistant.  I only sold one thing but it was enough to keep me in the black for this year.  I traded several things including being on the receiving end of a pair of Atlas 2-rail SP MP15s.

I got my PRB Regal back from Bill Basden (Delta Models) with an awesome interior.  So I gave him an Overland Superliner Sleeper as his next challenge; hehehe, I am evil.

I think my favorite acquisition is the Warner Bros display Hogwarts engine.  Just good fun.

It should be noted that this is also an S Scale meet so if any S Scalers on the forum attended they can speak for their perspectives.

It was also widely noted that the 2016 meet will be the first weekend in May.  We got nothing but positive feedback on the new dates.  It had to be moved because the 2016 Superbowl will be literally across the street at the same time and the hotel wants $1300+/night/person (not per room) in that time period and all hotels for 50 miles in any direction were similar.

Wait till you see the RDCs.  Everyone that saw them I talked to thought they were the brass ones.  The stainless finish was really great and Scott said the Warbonnet F7s will use the same technique to differentiate the side panels.

Hey Richard was that the Regal Inn I sold you way back? Sweet car -share some photos.

Wait till you see the RDCs.  Everyone that saw them I talked to thought they were the brass ones.  The stainless finish was really great and Scott said the Warbonnet F7s will use the same technique to differentiate the side panels.

Let's hope it sets the new standard.  Very exciting!

Scott - How about posting some pictures of the RDC's?

This sounds really interesting.

You mean like

http://3rdrail.com/reservation.html#RDC

After the FT picture posting fubar there will be no more of that kind of posting.

I missed the fubar- that bad huh.

Why can't these guys just enjoy the stuff without creating a problem. It would seem 2 kinds out there -those who bought and enjoy the rest -crabby and out to destroy a good time.

Yup.  Had to go check which one it was.  Still missing the Regal Arms and Pine Mesa.  And no, I'm not going to pay anywhere near $1300 for a Pine Mesa.  Much more than half that is a pass.

Hmmmm, did I take the car apart,

Kept thinking something was missing.  I finally remembered I would provide the brass loose chairs.  I guess now I have to do that.  And then open some doors.

OK, so, your turn, how about some pictures of the Pine car?
