Not to offend anyone but the PA announcements were really screwed up this year. So many confusing ones and many incorrect. May I suggest we hand the mike over to someone else?

Allow me to be the first to second your idea!

Saturday's announcements were fairly bad. The person kept mixing up the policy on photography, confusing people (including one guy who took a picture near the registration desk and got in trouble). The best I heard was the one on Saturday about the found money at the registration desk, and then they left the mic on, so we could hear all their laughing. I was in the bathroom at the time, and the room erupted in laughter. The one guy said it was the funniest announcement he heard in his 30+ years of York.

And we would miss that soothing voice?
I could not agree more.
To be clear, I am not commenting on any policy just the pure execution. I appreciate all who volunteer their time and effort to the event, it certainly could not happen without them however clear communication simplifies everything.
And before someone jumps on talking about "we don't know how hard it is, and people are trying their best" I have spent most of my adult life speaking in public and being on the radio, I do understand what it takes.
