Anybody happen to know whatever happened to Bill Brisko? Is he still making driver wheel patterns? How so you get in touch with him? Thanks, Sam

I believe he chose Pacific Locomotive Works as his business name. He did beautiful work, but it was not for middle class wallets. Check with Bob Stevenson for strange drive wheel castings. If I see him at OSW I will get his info.
That is fantastic. The detail is superb especially the nut/bolt detail on the stack. I've read about this process but had no idea how it was really accomplished. Thanks for the link Chip.

I had not seen that. His prices have come down since I last talked to him. Even so, $36 per axle unmachined is not for the faint of heart. For a typical Northern, if you can get Joe to do the machining, a set of drivers would be only $300. For non- hobbyist machining, it might be closer to a grand. It takes me all day to machine a set of rough castings for a Northern.
The patterns are beautiful!
Machining drivers is way beyond my capabilities but when I see the detail and how the stack and truck side frame came out it certainly opens up a world of possibilities for new and improved castings in the future.
I'm sure this process is still in the infant stages so when it matures I think we will all benefit.

I don't think the price is bad if the finished product turns out to be excellent. I will let you all know how I make out on this and thanks for your inputs. Sam Shumaker
