Match or layer your paints by type, not just brand.
A lacquer will set thinnest, dry quickest. It allows for very even looking painting, without wetting the full item each coat. And if top coated quickly, I don't even sand between coats. Keep it on metal bodies, no plastic. Most paints can be applied over lacquer. So if pink "has to go" one day and you don't cake it on... sand lightly, and squirt fresh paint on.(same if you want a clear coat to change the look to have more shine).
Enamel usually gives a thicker look, but better single coat shine if you prefer that "plastic M&M" look. Enamels tend to be harder to chip, but if they do, chip large & are harder to hide a repair on.
A white primer, or grey primer will change the pink topcoat shade slightly. Unless paint coat(s) are thick, or numerous.
Choose what's right for you right, and use light coats.
