hi guys

i have been buying all my parts online over that last couple years, i typically use Olsens but I'm in need of a couple 45-14 return springs, and want to try to get them locally

My gateman is going above and beyond flagging the crossing when there's no train coming. I'm pretty sure the spring is shot. Anyway local Pittsburgh guys where do you get your parts from?

I used to go to log cabin in Ross twp. But found out today the number was disconnected.

If it is the spring, try removing a couple of loops. This will increase the tension.

I'm 90% sure it's the spring, my original 45 did the same thing. Now my 45N is doing it. After train clears the circuit, the guy won't go back inside. So that's where I'm starting. I never thought of removing loops like that. I'll give it a shot. However would still like to know of part distributors in the local Pittsburgh area.

Try giving Lenny a call at Len's Trains & Custom Diecast in Irwin. 724-446-9791. He does a lot of postwar repairs and may have the part you need-worth a shot.
