Has anyone posted comments regarding the new Lionel 21" plastic passenger cars and how they compare to the previous aluminum cars from Lionel and K-Line? I was hoping to see new 18" cars in the 2016 catalog but apparently they are gone until a new aluminum manufacturer can be found. Then again, if the plastic cars are really good, we may never see aluminum again.
A lot to choose from in both the Signature and RTR Catalogs. Hard to believe that Lionel can produce all that they are showing. WOW

Recommend you do a quick search, not to sound like a smart ---. There have been many threads on Lionel's 21" cars recently (since the announcement anyhow).
Lionel just delivered the ESE set, the first of the new ABS cars. I don't recall anyone posting a comparison of the K-Line cars.
Additionally, Lionel will not be producing any more aluminum 18" cars after the current items are delivered. They sited problems with the extrusions over seas and many other issues.
You should still be able to find used Lionel 18" cars on the secondary market in any condition you are looking for-they've made a lot of them!
