Jeff, Tell your son Thank You for his service! I painted the figures, came across sitting U.S. Army soldiers but was a set of 12, decided to paint some sitting figure in the color of the uniforms. Good luck on your project that would be a nice post when completed! God Speed! Mark

Jeff if you can't find U.S.M.C. figures did you think about finding Police officers and painting in Dress Blue uniforms? Mark
From the Tracker display at the Armed Forces Retirement Home this past weekend..... these are K-Line cars with a Weaver RSD.....
Have a great day, everyone!

This beautiful “3rd Rail” B&O EA made its maiden run today on THE SOUTH FORK RAILROAD. What a beautiful engine!! A new rail fan friend brought it by today for its first out of the box run. So glad he shared the experience. Can’t wait to see the 3rd Rail 8 car passenger set he has ordered. Hope you enjoy as I did.

Mark, thanks for the idea, did not think about using Police officers. I really wanted the "cover" on the Marines.
I had contacted a guy who makes and paints figures, but after a reply several months ago nothing further. I need to reach out to him again. Same guy who made "Bob the Painter". Jeff
Craig, who's B&O passenger cars are those please?

Ben, Great trains, videos, and scenery!
Took my Lionel 611 to a friends last week for a run as she hadn't hit the rails in several years now. Assembled a mix of Southern, Norfolk Southern, and N&W passenger cars for the consist. She is great smoker and all was well until I shut her down for a break while we worked on a few things. All of a sudden she started smoking on her own - just sat there and began to fill the room! It was a minute or two before I could shut her down again and later when I started her up again, no smoke. Tried to cycle the smoke on/off a few times as she ran to no avail.
Here she is billowing smoke all on her own. I bought this one form Alex M. some 6-8 years ago and he had enhanced the smoke unit as well as converting her to 4 chuffs. Today she was emitting smoke from underneath the front of the boiler also as you can see here below. Really nice locomotive!

If repainted, the Arttista state trooper can be made to look like a drill instructor. You would have to slice the holster off.
@CharmCityAirLine Thanks for the State Trooper idea. More figure results using that term. I noticed the holster would need to be ground off.
These passenger cars were originally MTH Northern Pacific and the Engine was a Lionel ES 44 Union Pacific.
Had them all painted as a Rocky Mountaineer train.
That rare beast, the reverse paint scheme New York Central E7 from 1945 pulling the original 1941 Empire State Express consist, including the Franklin Delano Roosevelt observation car….

Nice video, James. I have to ask… I have the same engine - I’ve never heard of the “reverse paint scheme” before. Is that a historical reference??? I also have the recent Lionel maligned Dreyfuss engine and cars, and was thinking the cars would look nice behind the E7. Thanks!!!

Paul you are exactly right about matching the Dreyfuss cars. The first E7s delivered to the NYC in 1945 were actually painted to match the 1938 paint scheme of the cars of the Century…light gray body with dark gray stripe, like the 4004 in my video. Soon after, however, they were repainted to match the new 1948 Century, which has the reverse paint scheme…the more familiar dark gray body with light gray stripe. (There were actually two units in that first order, numbers 4002 and 4003, which were painted all black! I have an older TMCC version in black but it has the incorrect road number 4008).
Local passenger trains…….
Have a great week!

Hiawatha passenger train with Bi-Polar on the point.
I’ve posted videos of my Western Pacific California Zephyr before, but not completed or running like it should in this video. The train consists of Lionel Legacy WP F7 ABBA (ABB powered) and 9 K-line 15” aluminum cars. The first car is a baggage car, a RPO/Baggage, coach, diner, 2 vista domes, diner, vista dome, and finally the vista done observation car. It took 2 years to find the K-Line cars and build the 9 car CZ and complete the upgrades. All the cars are upgraded with the interiors painted, paneled, carpeted, and over 100 passenger figures added. Plus the diners have full kitchens with chefs and servers. All the cars are upgraded to LED strip lights with anti flicker power supplies.
5 of the CZ cars were converted from New York Central and Empire State Express cars to CZ. Apparently K-Line only produced WP 15” CZ in a 4 car set of vista domes including the observation car. The only cars missing are sleepers as none available in 15”. Not to mention this train already uses half the outer loop of my layout!!
Heres the final result running beautifully. It’s sharing the video with Southern Pacific freight on the opposing mainline.
The big city New York Central local stopping at the North Main Street station on the way home from the big city...
A big Sante Fe 2-10-4 rolls a passenger consist of stainless passenger cars through Maybrook New York. Guest operator Mainline Steam Jim is at the throttle and his K-line passenger cars are exceptional.

Nice looking train, Don. If you could find some matching Pacific Surfliner cars, you'd have Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner train that runs from San Luis Obispo all the way down to San Diego and back, which I've ridden several times.
It's rush hour and the B&O RDC's are busy busy busy!
@trumpettrain Patrick I really enjoy your posts. But I realized, what really impresses me and grabs my attention is the density of scenery (people, buildings etc.) on your layout. You do a great job figuring what goes where and make it look good. Thanks for sharing ... Jeff

What a wonderful compliment Jeff! Thank you so much!!
@Yellowstone Special- Vern thank you for the compliment. I agree a set of "surfliner" cars would be great. I too have ridden the Surfliner down to San Diego and back (from LA) but only got the chance once. Great ride, right along the beach, beautiful scenery.

I just got interested in this long running post. I am not much into passenger cars, favoring freight trains with operating cars, but I really like the videos of members passenger trains as I love seeing everyone's layouts. The videos show much more of the layouts than still pictures as it is very difficult to get much of a whole train in the picture and not be too small to see. I am looking forward to reviewing all 27 pages.
Here is my layout with a rare three passenger trains running. The two steamer loco trains are also running slow for a change helped by NO OX track treatment.
