NYC Fan, Wow, that’s a stunning picture with the big bridge backdrop, and you have a really nice layout. Beautiful passenger trains, neat trackwork. The two tug boats look absolutely at home in the scene you’ve captured. Please add some more pictures of your layout for our pleasure. Thank you very much. Your observation cars are awesome to. Happy Railroading Everyone
I lack the fancy backdrops (or any backdrops) so far since I've just gotten trains running on my new layout. OTOH, I do have the Aerotrain and a prototypical 10 car consist running.

The north Jersey carriage trade is indeed treasured by the Central Boulevard System’s General Passenger Agent, Pete Kruimer.
Since only the best will do, the COL recently took delivery of a brand new all First Class conveyance imported from Germany and built by Lionel-Shuco GmBH.
Known as a Rail Zeppelin, this vehicle offers true dead rail, battery free operation via an environmentally friendly, fuel free thumb drive propulsion system. See this revolutionary railcar’s maiden run here -

Hey all, thought anyone interested in passenger trains would be interested in an article on famous trains. It is a story written by Tom Kacich posted in the Champaign News Gazette - link follows - free access for first 3 articles. Mostly focused on the Illinois Central trains, it describes meals available and travel times and speeds. Fun short read.

Thanks for sharing.

Very nice Artie! Are those MU cars the K-Line ones?
Bryce
Thanks, Bryce! Yes, I think they were K-Line by Lionel by the time I picked them up at Grzyboski’s. They have sound, and a switch on the bottom to change from parallel to series wiring, which is nice for slow running. I swear they came up to NJ to record the conductor announcements!

These cars are new to me just got them a couple days ago. The wheels don't show any track wear. Sorry about the vertical video but I only wanted to capture the train crossing the bridge and the engine smoking which is new to me also.

My new Legacy Strasburg 4-6-0 locomotive with the MTH Premier Strasburg Woodside passenger cars. I finally have assembled a complete Strasburg train.

Nice looking train and a great little puller.
Thanks, I never did warm up to the MTH Strasburg 4-4-0 pulling it, I was happy to see this Nicholas Smith special for a better looking locomotive to pull these great looking MTH cars.
Here it is - the completed Spirit of St. Louis. Four K-Line 18" aluminum cars pulled by my newly acquired Lionel PRR E-7 A-As, all in tuscan.

Does anybody here have the older Lionel Canadian Pacific passenger set that came with the CW 80 transformer and Fastrak? I’d love to see that I’m action. I think it has Railsounds.

Pdxtrains, those passenger cars, which I believe are known as the Lionel Postwar 2400 Series passenger cars, are my favorites. They navigate 031 curves, even 027 curves, very well, and I like the names of the NJ cities and towns on them.
They look great behind Jersey Central locomotives, and I also run them with Pennsylvania and NY Central engines. Arnold

Arnold, the colorful postwar Jersey switcher Lionel 611 would look great pulling these. I'm going to look for one!

I normally do not do video because the one camera I have that does video is not very good at it. But I thought I play around with it so here is one showing my Lionel Centipedes pulling a short accommodation train.

I agree.
Other good candidates are the MTH Proto 1 Jersey Central Trainmaster and the Williams NW2 diesel and, of course, the Lionel or MTH Proto 2 Blue Comet or Jersey Central K4 Pacific ( I have the LC Plus model).
