My proposed layout space will be in a 15x20 bonus room (8' ceiling) that will also be used as a home office.  Currently there is a only ceiling fan with light in the middle of the room, and a floor lamp. I'd like to install recessed lights and looking for input on spacing.   I tried the search function and saw lots of posts about recessed vs track lighting, etc, but nothing that discusses what people with recessed lights used for spacing.  A general internet search on recessed lights mentioned 4' (1/2 the ceiling height).  Thoughts?

Thanks, Don

My ceiling is approximately 8' high. I went with a 4' x 6' light fixture spacing. Gave me plenty of light. Mine are on dimmers so I can decrease the amount of light if I want. Will also matter what wattage and lumens your lights are rated for. Try and keep your lights 3' to 4' max. from walls so enough light covers the walls.
