With great sadness I learned that a fellow SD3R member, Marvin Wait, passed away last Tuesday May 1st.  He was a member of the club for about as long as me (approx. 12 years), and his contributions to the club and especially the layout at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum has been enormous.  He donated the lumber for the layout and was intrumental in building the display cases for the layout.  He has graciously held club BBQs at his house up in San Marcos, and his home layout, which is a work of art in itself, was (or still will be) featured in an upcoming issue of OGR.

A very sad day for me; he has been in poor health for some time but his enthusiasm for the hobby has always been strong.  I have always enjoyed running trains and talking shop with him both at the club as well as his home layout.  In fact, he's one of the first members I ever ran trains with when I first joined.    My condolences go out to his wife and family.

Rest in peace, Marvin.  You will be sorely missed.
