Patrick,
Good luck with your plans for the new house--a real adventure,I'm sure. It is really too bad that you have to demolish your great layout! I imagine that you have plans for a bigger and better pike.
Best wishes,
Norm

By chance is this the Patrick that lives near Pittsburgh that just had the open house?
WHATTTTT!?!?!?!? Well, hey, bigger an better. Will you be selling your current house with layout or without?
Rick
Tom Jr. yes its him, at our last meeting said he already has new plans ready to go, just needs a new roof to put it under. Great guy and very talented.
Jack
Will you be selling your current house with layout or without?
He will be selling without. A layout, no matter how beautiful, would make the house very difficult to sell (unless you know someone in the market for a house and layout, in which case, you should have them contact Patrick ASAP ).
Andy
All that work---for naught, except in photos, just like John Allen's great layout.
Nooo, really?? When is this happening?? Or is it already? Thats crazy because I planned on emailing him today to see if I could bring a new acquisition over.
Patrick how much are you recycling?
Holy smokes that will be a lot of layout to move!
Good luck in finding your new house.
Remember the house can be built around your new layout design!
Hmm maybe a good article for OGR before its taken down?
Patrick,
You're finally going to do it!
It's was truly a pleasure to visit and run trains on your beautiful layout.
All the best on your new adventure!
Patrick, are you planning another layout?
Rick
right?? April fools??? not sure why so many of you are in on it though....
April Fools it is not. He is taking it down to sell his home a build a new one. We played trains for the last time on 3/27/14.
My, I can't even imagine what the next one could look like.

Well I'm sure glad I was able to attend the open house on March 1st. My 2 visits are cherished memories.
Patrick, your layout and hospitality are the greatest. It's sad to see a great layout go away, but the builder always knows what he can do to make the next one even better. Looking forward to it!!
Well...darned!!! As one of the fortunate folks that has had a personal invite, it looks like I didn't get there in time! BUT...knowing Patrick, the next layout will be even more fantastic and he will have it COMPLETED in a week!!
Alan
I think I can understand this because sometimes moving is a necessity and then building a new layout can be more fun again. The actual planning and building is more rewarding. I like it better than just running trains. Just 1 man's opinion. Been there, done that 3 times. It is fun!
Patrick I hope that you put together a video of that layout before you started dismantling it because it was a work of art. If you put out a DVD I would definitely buy it.
WOW!! Downsizing and upsizing at the same time. LOL
Patrick, Good luck to you and your wife.
Rick
Patrick any change often takes guts....and I fully understand that personal life changes makes decisions come to a head.
Good luck in whatever you do....really wish I'd been able to attend your open house....
Thanks for the update.....
I must be "the dude" who said Patrick's work was for naught. Patrick said it was for something, the enjoyment derived from the layout during the course of its existence.
However, when its gone, its gone. That is nothingness, if you will.
That's a great attitude Patrick! We have all enjoyed following along, and will enjoy the next layout too. Sorry to hear about your Dad. Hope he gets well, and the transition is a smooth one. Best of luck.
Andy
Patrick,
Family first always, everything else is secondary. Good luck.
Art
Patrick...I am in agreement with Zett....I would love to purchase a video!! Are you going to York this time? If so, please get with me and lets discuss the possibilities with Rich, etc....
Alan
Patrick: obviously when you started building it you KNEW already that you would be tearing it down, given your "we planned on being here 2 more years". WOW! To put that kind of artistic effort into something that you absolutely knew ahead of time had a 'end of life' date, that just adds to my appreciation of your layout.
Personally I don't think I would have the "stick-to-it"ness and/or will-power needed to so meticulously build your layout knowing what it was destined for.
Congrats to you and enjoy the next effort. WE WILL!

Having been a guest in Patrick's home and layout I wish him all the best at his new home. Hopefully I can enjoy his hospitality again in the new place.
Patrick
best of luck in your new home!! And now you get to enjoy the build out all over again.
Steve
Pat good luck in your new house and RR building. You never know what you've got till you have to move it!
The Delta Lines, Gorre and Dephetid, V and O, and now this. Enjoyed watching it being built.
Patrick......good luck in your new endeavor.
Peter
Thousands of hours of enjoyment. Sounds like a good enough reason to build it to me. Good luck Patrick.
Yes, Patrick, your father's health is the most important thing about this thread. I'll be praying for him and your family!
Patrick,
Thank you. I was fortunate to be able to see your layout after Eat n Park breakfast last year. One thing great about this hobby is starting over again and taking all the knowledge of building the previous layout and using it to make the new one better. I look forward to seeing the new layout and following the progress on the forum. I know you will keep us updated once you start.

Patrick
Hope all goes well with your father.
Can not wait to see your next layout Good Luck my friend.
Nick & Chris Carp
Family first. Thanks for all the inspiration Patrick, your layout is one of the best I have ever seen. I can't wait to see what you do next. Thoughts and prayers to your family.
HOLY S**T! I can only imagine what the next one (house and layout) will look like. Good luck with the new adventures Patrick.
I can't wait for the build thread.
Hi Patrick,
I have enjoyed pictures of your layout over the years, and it is truly one of the greatest. Best of luck in your new adventure. I am saying a prayer for your dad to get well.
