Sorry, I associate "cleaning" as in regular maintenance of all of the parts of the locomotive. But yes, I do mean lubrication. Just wondering the proper grease or oil to use when it comes to the motor, or internal gears. External gears as well.
I use Red N Tacky grease on the gears, as recommended by many here, and I have started using light oil used on electric razors for the rest. One thing I would do is check for screws and bolts coming loose.
