Currently modeling present-day Forney, TX with the Texas Eagle.  Acquired two Williams Genesis P42 diesels (one powered, one non-powered) with the Phase V paint scheme.  They're both beautifully painted and detailed especially given the relatively low price.  Seeing that the Texas Eagle route has it mainly in the southwestern part of the US, the consist uses Superliners.  While I had no problems getting the Genesis engines in the current Amtrak paint scheme, there are NO phase V superliners in O scale!  Nevertheless, I decided to take matters in my own hands.  Was able to secure O-scale Superliners in the phase III and phase IV paint schemes.  Using Rustoleum metallic gray and white spray paint, 1/32" red pin-striping tape, and a ton of painter's tape, I repainted the Superliners I had to the Phase V livery.  Not the best painter/artist in the world, but felt they turned out okay...Sleeping Car Dining Car--Phase III

I applaud your willingness to make what you want and risk a bad outcome; your project is a big success.

QUESTION:  What specific pinstripe tape did you use?  And, how noticeable is it?  I ask because I am in the midst of a project requiring similarly thin striping and trying to decide if I will paint it or not?

Appreciate the positive feedback!  I used 1/32" wide red matte graphic tape by Chartpak.  Believe it or not, I had a tough time finding pin-striping tape of the 1/32" width.  Ended up finding some on eBay.  Nevertheless, it worked great.  Initially was concerned that the tape stripes might stand out from the paint.  However, the tape's so thin it actually appears as though the stripes were painted on!  Looks really good when I'm actually running the consist.  Wasn't hard to apply the tape either, and I have big hands...

Great job! FWIW MTH made the Phase V superliners scheme a few years ago and we had them delivered finally I think in summer of 2018.  They may still be around.  We have the Williams Genesis locos as well.  They were run a lot and when the kids got older we converted the power unit to DCS.

Thanks!  I searched high and low for Superliners in the phase V livery with no success.  Did know that MTH had some in the phase IV scheme that looked similar to phase V.  While I'm certainly not planning to invest in anymore Superliners, would you happen to know the MTH product number for the Superliners you had delivered?
