Very nice shots and I agree with the gentlemen about the sharpness of a large format camera. Very nice work. Being new to this part of the hobby, would someone please tell me what set this is so I will know what to look for? Is this a starter set or does it come without power pack and track?
Again, nice looking train and very nice shots.

That is one fine looking engine, and great pics.

Very nice composition and very nice shots of the PE scale train. I love this train and what a perfect time to bring your photos to our Forum members. I hope we see many more photos this year of both the PE scale and non-scale version.
Fantastic layout! That just might tip me over to get a PE set. Is the scale version worth getting over the original set? MilwRdPaul

The cars are scarce and the locomotive is nearly impossible to find, even on the secondary market. If you can find either they will likely come at a premium price. Even so there is no comparison to the semi scale set, the Legacy PM berk is arguably one of the best sound locos Lionel has ever produced because ALLof the sounds came directly from the prototype. Heres video from SuperOBob showing the loco in action, the "pere marquette" tender and "polar express" tender have the same sounds with the exception of the "polar express tender having added Tom Hanks voice calling "all aboard".
David,
Beautiful photo's, I think I might have to get a set like that. But as RickO mentioned
I guess it will be pretty hard to do.
Thanks, Alex

The engine is hard to find but it is still reasonably possible. Earlier this year I took mine over to a fellow forum member's layout and he fell in love with it. He was able to find an engine and tender within a couple of weeks although I believe he had to get them seperately. I don't think he paid a "premium price" but I didn't ask.
The scale cars are hard to find once they sell out. If you are trying to get a scale PE train, I'd buy the cars as you find them.
I'm still looking for a two car set for the scale passenger cars. If anyone has any leads, I'd really appreciate it.
