Does anyone out there know how or have some kind of schematic for the automatic reversing unit?  There seems to be all kinds of levers etc., all coming from this thing.  The other question I have is, do any of my fellow forumites know how to get thing moving.  All it does is spin its drivers.  I have lubed all axles and cleaned the track, but with no luck.

If it as mackb4 suggests -  spinning wheels that won't pull -  it could be a case of drag from the car trucks.  My first 9900 had this problem and I solved it by checking to make sure the truck frames weren't rubbing against the wheels ( they were and in several places). I made sure the passenger car wheels were well lubricated on the axles - both with respect to contact with the truck frame and with respect to contact with the wheels and I checked to make sure the car wheel axles weren't bent (one was).  After addressing these issues my 9900 went like a rocket and the biggest problem I had was determining a resonable setting for the transformer to keep from sending the set off the tracks.

Believe it or not, the problem was with the transformer.  I was using an 80 watt unit from my Polar Express set.  Once I hoked up my KW, the problem ceased.  You're right, Mr. Butler, they do take off like rockets and finding the perfect speed is difficult.   My old manual reverse 9910 set w/2 cars does not have the cajones this five car unit has.  Gosh how I love these Zephyrs.
