I believe that they were repainted by Frank Rash's "Roundhouse Trains" in the late '80s early '90s. Check with his son "Jack" Rash, who did most of the repainting.
they made 12 sets of the 385e and 1767 series cars in pink with nickel trim (8 sets with brass trim). These were offered for sale around 1989 and used leftover stock from the early MTH (pre-Lionel Classics) product line. They sold for somewhere around $1025 when new.
