Here are the pix I took of the Pittsburgh Independent Hi-Railer layout at the Greenberg show in Monroeville, PA this past weekend.  The show was very busy on Saturday, and busier than we expected on Sunday, and a lot of fun on both days.

We decided against a simple oval for this show:

Looks like a bunch of zombies are going to crash the hippies' party...

Should have taken a close-up of the sign - it reads "R. Kramden & Co." above and "To the Moon... Alice, To the Moon" below.

Andy,

Thank you for the photos, and to all the Pittsburgh Independent Hi-Railers, thank you for setting up the layout in Monroeville!  It is always the highlight of the show!  I am glad to see photos of some wonderful trains that were not running when I was there, and of trains I did see.  It was also fun talking with many of the members.

Maybe I can squeeze in a trip to Kennywood this year!

We've had them a long time.  They are not really reverse curve modules, just smaller curve modules that we use this way from time to time, and we use them for smaller setups where we don't have as much space, and for irregular shaped layouts like the one we do at Kennywood.

Finally have a little time to check out the forum posts….loved this one!!
Nice, well  lit Pictures of an excellent example of what  the O-Gauge Hobby is all about.
The Pittsburgh Independent High-Railers  are a credit to the Hobby.. Nice Work High Railers!!

The Kennywood Holiday Lights schedule for 2014 is:

Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, November 28 thru December 21, 5-9 p.m.  The first night (Black Friday) usually features fireworks (and is usually the most crowded night).

Please note that inclement weather can cause cancellations, so if the weather is questionable, either call Kennywood, or keep an eye on their Facebook page (they usually make the go/no-go call by 1 p.m. the day of the event).  And if the weather is particularly mild or even nice, expect large crowds (the last day last year was warm and they got 10k people thru the gates - this prompted them to open additional rides to keep the lines manageable).

For more info on tickets, click here.  If you know you are going, get tickets at Giant Eagle or online for a discount (you will pay more at the gate), and if you know you are going more than once this season, the holiday season pass is a pretty good deal.

The curves are slightly super elevated - there is a length of wire just under the outside rail of each track in the curve.

Thanks Andy,

It's that added touch on broad curves that brings out the realism.
