Hello everyone. I just inherited my sister's fish tank and 5 fresh water fish. Well I am waiting to see if I can keep the tank clean before I go investing money on new decorations (she had a real algae problem, but I cleaned it good and replaced the stone, and I hope that will fix it), but the tank seems so empty right now. The reason I bring this up on a train forum is that I was thinking about putting a Plasticville building in it for now. Can anyone think of any reasons that this could be a problem?

And this would be prototypical. About 10 miles from where I live is Beltzville Lake, which was made when they put a dam across the Lehigh River. Well, they flooded a few buildings which are still in there, some of which can be seen from the dam.

I know a bit about this... I have a 220 gallon reef in my basement wall.

As long as its clean, it would be fine. If you wanted to assemble it with adhesive (I would), you can do it with aquarium silicone (100% silicone). GE silicone I is ok, just read the package carefully and make sure its the stuff without mold/mildew inhibitors. Do not use GE silicone II. Alternatively, Super Glue is safe as well (its how people glue corals into place). I wouldnt use plastic model glue (testors, etc...)

Krylon fusion is aquarium safe so long as its fully dry (several days) and I think they make a clear coat. I would over spray the whole thing before you put it in.

Even still... its going to be nothing but an algae magnet.

You answered your own question. You are modeling Beltzville Lake in a fish tank.
