One of the coaches on our Polar Express seems to have experienced a derailment while running on our club's Holiday Display RR.  The operator must not have been paying attention because the result of the mishap is that all of the lighting wires got fried.  Some insulation burned off and the remaining wires melted together.

Does anyone know what the correct Lionel part number(s) are for the lighting harness that connects both sockets and both rollers? The roller fixtures that clip to the trucks appear salvageable but the sockets and the wires have to be replaced.

Thanks,

Joe S.

Bill,

Parts arrived today and I repaired the burned up coach lights without a problem.  Thank you very much.

There is also a burned out or loose bulb in the observation car.  I cannot figure out how to remove the roof.  The arrangement is somewhat different from the coaches with a mysterious Philips head screw and what looks like fragile latches over the platform area.  I searched the forum to see if anyone had posted but could only find the instructions for the coaches.

Does anyone have advice on how to remove the observation car roof?

Thanks,

 Joe,
You need to first remove, the Observation railing.

2nd remove the three screws on the underside of the observation roof overhang

3rd Lightly squeeze the two locking windows on each side of the car and pull up on the roof
