My new Polar Railroad GP-7 arrived last night, and it is a beauty! It's my only Legacy unit so far, and for the Christmas season I'm just going to run it in conventional mode. For this reason, I'd like to add the 9V battery to keep the sounds alive. However, the Duracell 9V batteries I have seem a tad too large to fit.
I've searched around and found a couple of posts on the batteries, most amounting to "Just run it in Legacy mode" and others suggesting removing the shell, but in this case the problem isn't that the way into the battery compartment is blocked, but that the metal clip that the battery will rest in is simply too small.
So - I know that there are a variety of battery sizes out there (I've gotten AAAs at Harbor Freight that are just bizarrely small), but does anybody know of other batteries that specifically will fit this locomotive?
