Possible GGD/3rd Rail ATSF El Capitan Hi-Levels - Interested?

Since I have the 1 of 18 total of two runs of Amtrak El Capitan, I would only be interested in any add on Amtrak cars to compliment the upcoming Superliner1 sets for phase II and phase III.

And of course, I can't wait for Sunset to announce SDP40F's!

I would love to see the GGD el cap cars re-run but if Scott could for this run do a combined Super Chief/ El Capitan set w/ add-ons & then the Amtrak Southwest limited (which is basically the same exact consist as the SC/ El Capitan).

I think that would be incredible & a great compliment to the upcoming Amtrak SDP40F & Santa Fe FP45’s

Yes I would love a complete set SF Elcapitans I put in a standby order and never got them.

I’m even playing the same card as you Amtrak 80s and later guys mixing up 56 Hi-Level cars in my early 60s San Francisco Chief trains. All I need is to get GGD to build us those ex-heavyweight container flat cars they used in the 60s now that would be cool. Yeah the PAs are detailed for late steam era. Oh well

I'd like an El Capitan set one day but not at the same time I'm paying for 9 Superliners and 4 P42s.

I'm more a fan of the ATSF Hi-Level cars. I don't know if I could afford a set, but I'd like to see them out there. Now if only I could get a set of MTH 2-rail F-units.

My thoughts are this:

if Scott offered a 6pk El Capitan & a 4pk Super Chief then we have a very nice 10 car base set. It also give those who just want the El Capitan the opportunity to just have that set & add extra coaches & head end cars.

El Capitan could be 1 transition dorm car, (2) step down coaches, 1 coach, 1 lounge, 1 diner

Super Chief could be 1 4-4-2 sleeper, 1 10-6 sleeper, diner, dome lounge.

extras: baggage, RPO, 10-6 sleeper, High level coach, brass big dome, and all cars with the exception of the RPO could also be done in Amtrak phase I.

these are just my thoughts. I emailed Scott as well. I don’t have any special connections or influence with Sunset/ 3rd rail- GGD. I’m just dreaming. Happy new year everyone.

Yes.  Would definitely buy these if Scott re-ran them.  I’ve been looking to buy them on the Bay for a while.  Count me in.

I’d go for a complete El Capitan set with loco!
