i noticed that it was running funny, and I see that the front side rod screws are missing (both sides).  In Greenberg’s Repair Manual, page 139, the screws are designated 2026-45.

1–are parts available from a place like Rusty’s train parts or equal? Or

2—can I find out what the thread of that screw is?

The 2026 isn't that bad of a machine to service. Frustrations are understandable, but I'm sure we can set you in the right direction.

Can you give us a rundown of the issue and history? Most things you can address.

Worst case, I could suppose that the front drive rod screws were missing because the front wheel set isn't timed and or quarterd and a well equipped service person could address that.

So I get new cap screws from the train tender, but the holes in the front driver wheel is stripped, then I notice the front driver wheel not geared is loose from its shaft.   I may need a new shaft, and new driving wheel, and I saw a video about pressing the wheel back on with a special machine.  So that’s where I am with it.  I have Greenburgs Manual, and that’s my bible at this second.  I should take a photo or 2 but I’m in bed now
