That's as far as my knowledge and references go, and that's not including a lot of the separate sale rolling stock labeled under either category...

>>>I have one I started as an excel spreadsheet<<

Never could understand why few lists (yours included) show the #18343 Black GG-1 from 2001 in their PWC list.

Little nostalgia here, Although the black GG-1 was not originally cataloged as PWC, the separate sale engine was delivered in a PWC package with PWC documentation and included the PWC stick on badge.  Doesn't get more PWC then that.

2001 was a hectic time at Lionel as the plant was in the process of closing.

Today, because its $750 MSRP, few were ordered and few were made.

It is a difficult piece to find today.

Nice list, Larry. A great resource. Thanks.

Looking at these lists makes me realize how much catching up I have to do.   I've come to the PWC/CC party later than many and have been steadily picking up sets over the last couple of years. At least I'm finding some nice bargains out there.

I went back and checked my list, this locomotive is listed under the Archives section. I even looked it up in the Lionel catalog, and the text states it is part of the Archives Collection, even if it came in a PWC box. Go figure!

At the time as I remember, Lionel originally assumed the super dark green, not black  #18343 GG-1 painted like the original was archived but later found out this dark green version was the first GG-1 released.

It then went into the PWC series.

No box error here. It came with the PWC badge and documentation.

BTW, the original was the first GG-1 made in America and its modern era twin, the #18343 was the very last GG-1 made in America
