The Z4000 is a current model.  The Post War Celebration ZW is not.  I have the PW Celebration ZW.  It functions fine.  My gripes are it only came with 135 watt bricks AND the mother board has an issue and needs to be replaced.  The part is no longer available.  Fortunately only the reset function doesn't work so as long as a reset is not necessary, I'm OK.

I would purchase a ZW-L if they weren't so pricey.

Bottom line, I would go with a current model that you could get parts for if necessary.  But don't forget, MTH Z4000 can deliver 22 volts.  That is more than Lionel electronics will tolerate.

Currently my setup is a Post War ZW (old school) and an MTH TIU.  Running conventionally the TIU provides 44 voltage steps.  That is even better than the 32 steps for the PW Celebration ZW.
