I'd thought you fella's would enjoy this real proto photo of the origin of  the real Lionel prewar station, and it's subsequent decendance. We're speaking  the 112, 113, 114, 115, 116, 117 . It is the Asbury Park N.J. Station on the NY & LB line ( Central of NJ ). 148th

Tim, That picture is out of a book named The Next Station. I can't recall the author's name. It pretty much covers all the stations at the Jersey Shore between Long Branch & Seaside Heights. Joshua Lionel Cowen vacationed in Asbury Park during the summer months. If your familiar with the Lionel 129 Station/Terrace you'll note it had landscaping and a flag pole. Look to the left of this photo and you will see the flagpole. This line is now a NJ TRANSIT Line that runs from Bay Head to Long Branch ,NJ using diesel.  It is electrified from Long Branch and further north. I have a 129 & 115 station in my train room.
