I second what Don said...and those "nasty" members should find another Forum to hang out on seeing how guys like you help to pay for this one!

Perhaps some of those guys are "nasty" because they are trying to sell used Williams equipment for the same, or more, than you are selling new Williams.

I read those previous threads from Pat's Trains.  People made some insightful comments that other members got mad about.  There were no nasty comments.  Pat's just being a bit thin-skinned here.

Why don't you just have the moderator lock the thread as soon as you post the sale prices?  This discussion (which I am now sucked into) isn't really appropriate for what you are trying to do here.

I'll register my approval (even though not needed) for Pat listing specials on this forum.  He's paid his dues as a sponsor and personally I like to see what "market prices" are for different items.  If someone doesn't want to read or see what's happening, he can simply go on to the next topic.

Hi Pat,

I also greatly appreciate your sales listings!  They generally consist of product offerings in which I have a genuine interest.

It's unfortunate that you or the webmaster (as has occurred on other threads) have to qualify your right to make these postings and yet still receive flack from those who have no interest in the product line and who continue to 'troll' these threads and 'stir the pot'.

Pat is great.  He reminds me a lot of Paul Johnson at Catoctin Mountain Trains (Thurmont, MD).  Very knowledgeable.  Extremely nice.  Very interested in every customer whether they buy something or not.  Very generous of his time.  I highly recommend trying Pat's for a purchase if you have not done so yet.  For those that have done biz with Pat, you know what I mean.

Williams decided not to build the 4-6-0's matching Consolidation or Mikado, or that

it takes forever for ordered items to float in from any mfr.  He'd love to have a wild and

exciting catalog to sell, too, to enhance cash flow and experience rapid turnover.

i really enjoy your sale posts and have purchased one of your sale items from your previous posts and I  hope to be able to do so again soon.

I just don't get the negativity from a very small number. If they don't like sponsor sale threads wouldn't it just be easier just to pass over the thread and not waste time complaining.  

So thanks for doing this and I hope you will continue to offer good deals like this.

Terry, your response in all caps gives the impression you are yelling which I am sure you do not realize. You also do not seem to realize everyone does not research topics discussed earlier before posting a comment here. These may be good things to keep in mind.

I felt I asked a legitimate question about the post, Pat's is  the only advertiser that I have seen post this way, just a list. Other merchants that post give info such as when new releases are shipping or some other insight about the hobby.

BTW, I ordered an MTH Premier item from Pat's trains in May.  The price was good and the item came in a timely fashion.  It was a good buying experience and I would recommend it.

This is a nice perk for our Forum sponsors. I believe Pat's ads are a plus to our content.

Pat.....my son and I will come see you in the Purple Hall.  Will you have the UP Baldwin, Circus 4-6-0, and the Santa Fe Alcos with you?  Are they scale or semi-scale?

If we decide to buy something before York, can we pick them up at York or is that too much trouble?

Really want to see them up close and give at least one of them a good home.

This is such a silly issue. Why do some object to Pat or any other Forum sponsor placing sales here. It helps keep this forum going. As Alan stated, it's a little added bonus for the advertisers. If you don't like it simply skip through the sales adds. I don't think we want to turn sponsors against helping us with the Forum. Don
